Doctor in Philadelphia or the suburbs

Right now the most important thing is to find a treating doctor in the philly or suburbs for her.  She is in the worst pain and edema that she has ever been.  Some of the doctors here take 2 years for an appt.  We don't have that kind of time now.

Interestinly, she was on oxygen 24-7 and using a walker until she head a severe head trauma.  After that she did not need oxygen or the walker.  Her swelling went down and although she had the pain, she felt better not to deal with the oxygen and swelling.  Now the head trauma is over, the other symtoms have reappeared.  Right now she is worse than ever and I will take her to the emergency room tonight when I get home.  She is without a family doctor that can admit her.  Her doctor recently moved to Colorado.  She needs a good Dr. who understands this disease enough to be helpful.  I am hoping that soemone in this group can help.

I know that there is a really awesome doctor named Dr. Robert Schwartzman in Philadelphia. He is one of the best CRPS specialists in the US. He often sends patients to Germany to be put into a medically induced coma. Has she ever had high dose ketamine infusions? This is Dr. Schwartzman's phone number if you are interested: (215) 762-6915

We are working on a benefit to get my fiance to a specialist in Florida (Dr. Anthony Kirkpatrick) who does the same types of procedures as Dr. Schwartzman. My fiance has had this terrible disease for almost 5 years now. From all of the research I have done, these two doctors I hear are the best. Checkout my fiance's benefit website at www.gregvanstedum.com . Good luck and let me know if I can help in any other way! God Bless

    Emily,

Sadly, we waited 2 years to see Dr. schwartzman only to have her in the hospital on the day we were to see him.  We cannot wait another 2 years.  I hope you have better luck.

I see a doctor in Marlton NJ which is just about 20min from Philly. His name is doctor phillip getson and was a collegue of schwartzman. He does all the treatments and even the ketamine which I am doing right now. I have seen more than 147 doctors in 9 states and out of all of them he is absolutly the best. He cares and understands, I am not sure how far you want to travel. I travel 2 and a half hours just to see him and he is worth it. His wait isnt that long about 2-4 weeks to be seen and if the ketamine is done it isnt a 2year wait only 2-3 months. He has many patients from ages 16-85 and all love him. If you want his contact info let me know. I hope this helps. Hugs! Sam

    Sam,

Thanks for the info.  I did get his name and called a few days ago.  His office called me back, but my wife is currently in the hospital so I will contact him when she gets out.  A doctor at Doylestown hospital who is helping her has a mother with RSD so he is invested in treatments.  She is ucky to have found him Maybe he will become her primary. doctor.  Based on my reading RSD inflicts many more women than men.  I wonder why.  Anyway, I will share any information that I get.

hello so sorry you are having such a battle of trying to find a Dr for RSD .The best way to get into Schwartzman is to go into the emergency room and see the Neuro. that is on  Then you will get in fast . I have been Schwartzman & getson patitient for 28yrs know and love them to pieces. You will have the Up most care once you get in there. The other thing you can do is ask the Dr on here his advice and see what he says . If you have any other questions please let me know. I wish you all the best . I will pray for you . God Bless.
